Tufo is renowned for having the climatic and territorial characteristics suitable for the production of one of the best Italian wines, Greco. The presence of sulphur and particular minerals in the soil, together with the microclimate guarantee unique characteristics to the final product. Imported most likely from Thessaly by exiles such as the Pelasgians, this wine assumed great importance at the Roman courts, so much so that Pliny wrote that the Greek was so valuable that it had to be served only once during the banquets.

About Azienda Agricola Le Vigne di Rosa

Vigne di Rosa is a small family business where the strong point is the authenticity and the deep link with the territory. Each production is the essence and image of the place of production. The land is located in Lapio and Tufo, the heart of Fiano and Greco. To these is added a delicious Aglianico. Raffaele, Pierfrancesco and Lorenzo control every production phase, from harvesting to bottling. Elegant and decisive wines are born, just like the beautiful Irpinia.

DOCG is reserved for wines already recognized as DOC (designation of origin) at least from five years that are considered of particular value in relation to their intrinsic characteristics of quality, compared to the average of similar wines. The characteristics of this kind of wine derive from the incidence of traditional, natural , human and historical factors that give the wine fame and commercial development at national and international level.
