The Red Aglianico del Taburno is one of the characteristic wines of the beautiful Taburno hills, in Sannio. It is a wine with a ruby red color and an aroma with hints of vanilla, tobacco, chocolate and red fruit notes. It is elegant, warm and enveloping, for this reason it is perfect with roast, white or red meat, aged cheeses or simply as a meditation wine.

“Aglianico: Vine variety of vulcanoes!”
The town of Torrecuso, as the name implies, was born in the Middle Ages with the role of watchtower of the Lombard Duchy of Benevento. From the top of the hill where stands the village, the sentries could easily control the entire territory of Benevento until Fortore the border with Puglia.
Torrecuso has large areas of well exposed fertile land, with a particularly favorable climate for growing vines. In the shadow of Mount Taburno along Sunni hills, vineyards paint the agricultural landscape. Among the oldest vineyards of Campania, Aglianico plays certainly an important position. Historical sources attribute the introduction of this vine variety in Campania to Greek colonists arrived in VIII century. B.C. The word "Aglianico" would be a mispronunciation occurred in the Aragonese courts of the word “Hellenic” or even "Eleanico" (from the city of Elea). Since its introduction, Aglianico is entered by force on the tables of the nobility, accompanying meals of many prominent people, and through the centuries has consolidated this role still remain predominant vine variety.
